Join the Milwaukee County Historical Society this Wednesday, March 6 at 7:00 pm for “An Introduction to the Encyclopedia of Milwaukee” with guest speaker Amanda Seligman, Associate Professor of History at UW-Milwaukee, presented in partnership with the Marquette University Department of History.
Bridging the gap between academic and public history, the forthcoming Encyclopedia of Milwaukee will bring forth a print and web resource that will not only provide information on Milwaukee’s past, but also give the reading public the opportunity to engage in the process of building the project. The mission of the project is to teach both what and how people know about the city’s past. Join Dr. Seligman as she previews the project and shares both the timetable and some interesting anecdotes already collected.
A reception will be held at 7:00, with the lecture beginning at 7:30.
