Since 1935, the Historical Society has served the Milwaukee community by fostering an enlightened understanding of history through education and preservation. Through its diverse historic sites the MCHS strives to impact people’s lives through empowering themes intertwined within history, by facilitating a menu of experiences. It is our mission to:

Through a broad range of activities, the Historical Society seeks to recognize and preserve our local history. In promoting a greater appreciation of Milwaukee County’s heritage, the Historical Society hopes to develop a better understanding of the issues and challenges facing Milwaukee County today.
