Vault into History! The Milwaukee County Historical Society (MCHS) is your gateway to Milwaukee’s past. Since 1935, the Historical Society has served the Milwaukee community by fostering an enlightened understanding of history through education and preservation. Through its diverse historic sites the MCHS strives to impact people’s lives through empowering themes intertwined within history, by facilitating a menu of experiences. It is our mission to:

Collect, preserve, and make available materials relating to the history of the Milwaukee community. Through a broad range of activities, the Historical Society seeks to recognize and preserve our local history.
