Always wanted to leave your mark on Milwaukee? Now’s your chance!
Come Saturday, July 20, a new park will open up in the Menomonee Valley. The developers of the project, the Menomonee Valley Partners and Urban Ecology Center, have raised $22.5 million for the park, which is intended to become a reclamation project designed to turn a once-blighted area into a place for recreation and education. The hard work is nearly completed. All that’s missing is a name!
You can make Milwaukee history by submitting your own ideas for the future park’s name. In addition to the excitement of helping name a new park, all suggestions will be entered to win great prizes from wonderful places in and around the Menomonee Valley. For more information on the Menomonee Valley park, OnMilwaukee posted a great article on the progress and goals of the developers, which can be viewed here. You can learn more about the history of Menomonee Valley at the Monomonee Valley from the Ground Up’s webpage. Most importantly, you can submit your own ideas for a park name here.
Submissions will only be accepted until next Friday, March 22nd and the winner will be announced sometime before the park opens. Good luck to you all! Now go and make Milwaukee history!
